This year our working artist is Molly McLain.  Molly  is an advocate, artist, and educator raised in Valley City, ND. She lives in Bismarck and works for Farmers Union where she advocates for family farms. She is active in the arts world and frequently teaches classes and creates art projects and murals across the state with organizations, individuals, and schools. Molly has a love for people, mosaics, and good jokes. She and a co-artist recently opened Blue Sky Bismarck to serve as a working studio, classroom and gallery space. Molly loves being around people in situations to creatively collaborate and share ideas. She strives for opportunities to empower others to find their voice and creative calling.

At DuckFest Molly will be demonstrating the mosaic process... you can bet she'll be working on a piece inspired by a duck. Stop by and try your hand at breaking a tile or two and join in the process!

Saturday, October 14:  10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Kids love art and Duck Fest gives them a chance to create something of their own.  On Saturday, October 14 in the school gym, artist Sabrina Hornung will be teaching the art of Scherenschnitte.

Sabrina's family has a strong German connection, and Sabrina has traveled to Germany a few times. Sabrina learned the art of Scherenschnitte or German Paper Cutting after receiving a grant from the NDCA for the Folk Art & Traditional Art Apprenticeship Program. She studied under Meridee Erickson Stowman in Tower City.  She will be sharing her knowledge of this awesome craft with the kids!

Ages 2-7:  10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Ages 8-13:  1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

For fans of the "See Them Again" portion of our show, this year we are making the event even better by showcasing not just the works of a local artist, but the local artist themselves!

Our artist this year will be Doris Fortney.  Not only will we have quite the collection of her works on display;  you are also invited to come and enjoy coffee & conversation with Doris and learn more about her work.

Saturday, October 14:  1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
